Improving the School Feeding Programme, with online registration of caterers
The Ghana School feeding program (GSFP) has been in implementation since 2005. Over the years GSFP has been saddled with a lot of problems and as a result of this the MGCSP is introducing interventions to restructure the program. MPA is providing technical assistance in the restructuring process.
Interventions being introduced to the GSFP includes tracking of the GSFP, monitoring (Electronic Monitoring System for School Attendance) to ensure value for money – this will ensure that Government is paying for the actual number of students in schools. Registering all caterers electronically and linking them to their respective schools, improvement in the electronic payment system, tracking the performance of caterers using electronic tracking system to estimate and validate payments.
The e-platform will make it easy to apply to become a caterer with the Ghana School Feeding Programme; monitor whether or not caterers cook and take other data such as number of students fed, hygiene situation, timeliness of meals etc.; monitor essential indicators, and enables Supervisors to validate and confirm cooking activities.
